I took this photograph on the 20th of July, 2024 in just outside of Lone Pine, California, USA on a very hot summer day. The area is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

In my travels to the USA I have only ever been met with kindness, hospitality, generosity and an inquisitive spirit of humanity no matter where I have traveled in the country.

I was initially apprehensive to pull over in front of this persons house to photograph their front lawn and flag, and it took me until the last day I was there to do so. I’m glad I didn’t give up on this photograph despite my own self imposed fear or limits and allowed myself the opportunity to capture this moment.

This is photographed on Kodak Portra 160 film.

Photographs are high quality archival ink jet prints, printed on 310gsm Canson Platine Fibre Rag. All prints are hand signed and A2 prints are editions of 25.
